After ending a morning breakfast meeting where we discussed some pretty difficult changes we are working through I headed to 5th avenue to commute to my office in the Empire State Building of all places. While walking along I passed a shop and noticed a card in one of the racks. It jumped out at me and I realized this might just be the meaning of life. I think we have followed this often, but here is a reminder.

Traveling never gets old...

On may way to NYC for 10 days. Hope to have some great meetings and some great fun as well.

Last week was spent in the Colorado Rockies celebrating Mom's 85th with almost the entire clan.

Yep- took a pedi-cab from 34th to Pier A. A harrowing experience, but I survived! Met my old friend Colleen and her family for a celebration dinner for her son.

May 3rd they announce the nominations for the Tony awards. Can't wait to see the list and add them to my must see list.

This week I was able to see Fully Committed #fullybroadway. Fantastically funny.

Homeless In NYC

I was walking back from work on my way to my hotel tonight when I had a heart warming experience. On 8th Ave right before 54th there was a young woman on the street asking for groceries. I saw people passing by so I stopped and gave her $1.
She walked away then came back quickly. She said, I want food, not money- she handed the bill back to me and walked away. I stopped for a moment, then went to her and asked her, "what do you want"? She said she needed food. We were right across from a health food store so I said I would buy her some groceries, she asked to go in with me. Well, it turns out, she wanted to pick out her own food. As we walked around she said, in a very quite voice, "basic food should be available to people". She asked respectfully with each item if it would be too much money. At one point she filled a bag with raw cashews. It was not on purpose, you know how those lever things work, all of the sudden the bag was full. She said this is going to be $20 are you sure it's ok? She was right, it was $19.68.

NYC

Sitting in the hotel lounge, drinking Merlot and eating hummus.

The weekend before last Dani and Co joined me in NY for a quick birthday hug for Colleen. Was able to see Hamilton with Colleen and The Lion King with both my girls. Truly an amazing time. Also, only the three of us will understand the true meaning of the "Library".

California grilling...

Last night took advantage of the beautiful weather.

My new bi-coastal life...

Heading to NYC for the 2nd time this month. It's mostly work but some play. So far I have seen 7 Broadway shows. This time I may take in a show or some shopping on 5th Avenue.
